I'm a Fuji guy now. And I love it.
I am a Canon fan without hesitation, but needed a better option for travel photography, so I ventured into the mirrorless world. First, I went with Sony. Not their flagship, A7 series (I have a full frame with Canon), but the A6000. Between the image quality and lens options, I was disappointed and promptly returned it to B&H.
I then went Fuji. I got the X-E2 with the 18-55mm 2.8-4.0 lens and fell in love. The size, image quality and overall experience is fantastic. I have since purchased two more lenses, the 35mm & the 16mm. Fuji's build quality and optics are spot on. Extremely sharp and fantastic bokah.
Why the X-E2 over the X-T1?
Simple answer; Travel size. I first bought the X-T1 and thought it to be only a slight advantage size wise over my Canon 5D III for travel. So I tried the X-E2 and loved it. It's form is one that you can take anywhere and not feel as though you are carrying a massive camera.
With the same sensor as the X-T1, the X-E2 is a much better option for travel. The only thing I miss having is the articulating screen on the back. The tradeoff is fine though. Throw on a Peak Designs wrist strap and you can carry this thing around all day like it was a compact.
I can't say enough about the X-E2 and recommend it heavily. Find out for yourself, but get some great glass to compliment it. You will get some fantastic images.
